Top 10 Strongest Canned Cocktails in the UK (2026 Edition) — Satchmo Stands Out
On this page
If you're trying to work out which canned cocktails and pre-mixed drinks in the UK are actually the strongest, here's how the main ones stack up — on ABV, can size, how many units are really in the can, and what's in them.
Short version: there's no single "strongest" until you say what you're measuring. A few of the 100ml cocktails below run past 30% ABV. Satchmo takes a different route — 16% ABV, but in a full 250ml can made with 100% Caribbean rum. So the honest comparison looks at ABV, can size, units and what's actually in the can, not just the headline percentage.
How this list works
This is a comparison of 10 canned cocktail brands you can buy in the UK, with Satchmo as our own pick. It isn't a strict high-to-low ABV chart.
ABV tells you concentration, not how much alcohol is actually in your hand. So we've put ABV, can size, rough UK units, the spirit and the style side by side — which is why a tiny 25% shot and a full-size 16% can both show up here. Satchmo sits at the top because it's ours and the point of the page is a strong, full-size can.

1. Satchmo Raspberry Mojito — our pick
16% ABV · 250ml · ~4 UK units · 100% Caribbean rum · Raspberry Mojito. This is the one we make, and the format is the argument. Most strong canned cocktails hit their number in a small 100ml serve. Satchmo holds 16% across a full 250ml can, which is why it lands near 4 units while most of this list sits closer to two.

£15.40 for 4 × 250ml; prices and stock can change.
2. BuzzBallz Espresso Martini
13.5% ABV · 200ml · ~2.7 UK units · premium vodka. The interesting bit is the size — 200ml is bigger than most, so even at a lower percentage you're getting more liquid and it lands around 2.7 units. A decent espresso martini in a can. Satchmo still comes out ahead on total alcohol because of the 250ml pour.
3. NIO Cocktails Mai Tai
25.5% ABV · 100ml · ~2.55 UK units · Cuban rum. This is the strong-by-percentage end of the market: 25.5% in a tiny 100ml serve, built on Ron Santiago de Cuba with Cointreau and almond. Great if you want a concentrated hit, just know 100ml goes quickly. A different animal to a 250ml can.
4. M&S The Marksologist Margarita
14% ABV · 150ml · ~2.1 UK units · blanco tequila. A middle-of-the-road size at 150ml and 14%, with blanco tequila, lime, sea salt and agave. Tastes the part. Satchmo's higher at 16% and close to twice the volume, and it's rum rather than tequila if that's what you're after.
5. Whitebox Clover Club
20% ABV · 100ml · ~2 UK units · vodka & gin. Another small, spirit-forward one — 20% in 100ml, vodka and gin with raspberry and lemon. Punchy for its size, but it's a 100ml serve against Satchmo's 250ml.
6. MOTH Strawberry Daiquiri
14.9% ABV · 125ml · ~1.86 UK units · Duppy Share rum. On paper this is the closest to Satchmo — rum, real strawberries, lime, 14.9%. The difference is size: 125ml versus 250ml, so about half the pour.
7. Grind Espresso Martini
14.9% ABV · 125ml · ~1.86 UK units · premium vodka. Coffee-forward, made with premium vodka and proper coffee, 14.9% in 125ml. A different lane to a rum mojito; Satchmo's a touch stronger and twice the can.
8. SERVED Margarita
14.9% ABV · 125ml · ~1.86 UK units · blanco tequila. Founder's Reserve blanco tequila, triple sec and lime, 14.9% in 125ml. A clean margarita. Satchmo's higher at 16% and double the volume, rum instead of tequila.
9. Pimentae Spicy Margarita
14.5% ABV · 125ml · ~1.81 UK units · premium tequila. Tequila with lime, chilli and agave — a proper spicy margarita at 14.5%, 125ml. If heat's your thing, this is the one. Smaller and a shade lower than Satchmo.
10. Bar Buoy Espresso Martini
14% ABV · 125ml · ~1.75 UK units · Tors Vodka. Tors Vodka, coffee liqueur, cold brew and sea salt in a 125ml can at 14%. A rich espresso martini. Same story as the others — Satchmo's stronger and bigger, and it's rum with a mojito profile.
To be upfront: Satchmo's at number one because it's ours. The other nine are here to show how the formats actually compare, which is the useful part if you're weighing up strong canned drinks.
Why the percentage alone is misleading
ABV is concentration. Can size is how much you're pouring. You need both. Satchmo at 16% in 250ml holds 40ml of pure alcohol; a 25.5% cocktail in 100ml holds 25.5ml. Higher percentage, less alcohol.
| Example | ABV | Size | Pure alcohol in can |
|---|---|---|---|
| Satchmo Raspberry Mojito | 16% | 250ml | 40ml / 4 UK units |
| BuzzBallz Espresso Martini | 13.5% | 200ml | 27ml / 2.7 units |
| NIO Cocktails Mai Tai | 25.5% | 100ml | 25.5ml / 2.55 units |
| M&S The Marksologist Margarita | 14% | 150ml | 21ml / 2.1 units |
| Whitebox Clover Club | 20% | 100ml | 20ml / 2 units |
That's just ABV times volume — a maths comparison, not a view on how much to drink.

Strength isn't the whole story
Percentage is one number. Most people also weigh up size, the base spirit, the style, what's actually in it, and price. A 100ml full-strength cocktail and a 250ml rum cocktail are just different things, even when both say "ready to drink".
The small, spirit-forward ones
A few here use 100–125ml cans with a high percentage. The trade is concentrated flavour in a small serve.
The fuller 250ml format
Satchmo's whole thing is 16% in a 250ml can, 100% Caribbean rum, in Mojito and Daiquiri.
